Mr Sayegh was very personable and explained my surgical procedure so that I knew exactly what to expect, additionally he answered all my questions clearly so as to allay any concerns. Following my discharge form hospital he has been checking by telephone to ensure my recovery was progressing correctly. His professionalism has been excellent throughout and I would certainly recommend him to my friends and family.

What is great - considerable care taken with questions to obtain a diagnosis. A couple of my answers to questions were inconsistent and Mr Sayegh used follow up questions to obtain clarity before moving to the next question. Also put me at ease, very friendly open manner, both by phone and in person. This was very re-assuring as I needed an endoscopy. The actual procedure was explained to me, and carried out without pain or discomfort, using sedation. The diagnosis was clearly presented. Mr Sayegh gave me a comprehensive, illustrated report which he explained. He also described the histological results, when they were returned from the lab, very clearly, with a phone call. So, I liked everything here from the initial consultation through to the day surgery and the explanation of the diagnosis. Mr Sayegh was at all times very patient and friendly. I can't make constructive suggestions on how he could improve as I can't see how anyone could improve on this very high standard.

Mr Mazin Sayegh was (crucially) reassuring throughout my procedure from first consultation through to postoperative. The situation(s) were always well explained. Clearly, an extremely skilled, confident surgeon. If I did recommend (which I don't!) he would be wholeheartedly endorsed.

I saw Mr Sayegh last year about my right inguinal hernia which was beginning to cause some discomfort. He listened to my story and took note of the significant events in my medical history. He examined me and told me the diagnosis of a right inguinal hernia and explained the procedure, the possible complications and any risks involved. He was professional, interested and inspiring of confidence. By mutual agreement, we put off a repair then as Goring Hall Hospital was closed for the most part due to the COVID pandemic. On contact at the beginning of this year, a date was arranged for 15th February when I would be admitted to Goring Hall as a day case, following a pre-assessment with COVID check etc. three days before, which was thorough and well managed. On admission on Friday, 15th February, I was visited by both the anaesthetist and Mr Sayegh, who examined me again and marked the side of the hernia. I had been given extensive information beforehand about the procedure, the risks involved- surgical, anaesthetic and systemic and this was reiterated by Mr Sayegh before I signed the consent form. I was well informed and put at ease. I was also well informed about the plan for the day (including going home in the afternoon, driven home by my wife) as well as how I was likely to feel and how recovery would occur over the next few weeks, with and emphasis on no lifting until at least six weeks. The procedure was carried out in mid-morning and, after I had seen both Mr Sayegh and the anaesthetist, I left the hospital, feeling well, at about 15.30 with good instructions about wound care and hygiene. There was no real pain, simply minor discomfort later, which responded to paracetamol. I was warned that I may need co-codamol if the pain worsened- I had some at home from a recent spinal operation- but I am glad to say that I did not need any. The risks of urinary retention and constipation had been well explained pre-operatively and I had no difficulty in passing urine immediately post-operatively or later. Mr Sayegh gave excellent advice about avoiding constipation and hence straining, recommending a good fluid intake and eating dried fruit regularly. I followed the advice closely and had no urinary or bowel problems post-operatively. Three and a half weeks post-operatively, Mr Sayegh called for a remote post-operative appointment. I was pleased to report that the scar (subcut. stitching) was healing well and that there had been no issues with the wound. He recommended moisteurising the wound and we talked again about the timing of various levels of exercise and physical activity. I was assured that I could contact either himself or the hospital should any problems arise. I am pleased to say that there have been no problems to date. In summary, I feel I was extremely well cared for by Mr Sayegh and his team. Throughout, his advice was excellent, he listened well to my issues and concerns and I am very pleased with all aspects of care provided by Mr Sayegh. I would certainly recommend consulting him to anyone requiring advice and/or surgery in his areas of expertise.

Following an epigastric pain, Dr Sayegh leaded my tests and treatment exceptionally, and besides being a great professional Dr Sayegh is a very approachable, supportive and friendly gentleman. I’m very satisfied with his work and I trust the follow-ups will be well managed without any doubt. Said that, I would definitely recommend him 100%.
